PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is one of the State-Owned Enterprises in the Ministry of Transportation engaging in airport services and services related to airport- in Western Indonesia.

Angkasa Pura II has earned the trust of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to manage and run the business of the Jakarta Cengkareng Airport, which is now the Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, since 13 August 1984.

The existence of Angkasa Pura II began with the name of Perum Pelabuhan Udara Jakarta Cengkareng by virtue of Government Regulation No. 20 year 1984. Then on 19 May 1986 by the virtue of Government Regulation No. 26 year 1986 the name was changed to Perum Angkasa Pura II. Subsequently, on 17 March 1992 by the virtue of Government Regulation No. 14 year 1992 the status was changed to a state-owned limited liability company (Persero). As the company was run, on 18 November 2008, based on Notary Deed No. 38 Year 2008 of Notary Silvia Abbas Sudrajat, SH, SpN. the name was officially changed to PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero).

Angkasa Pura 2 was established to manage and run the business of airport and airport-related services by optimizing the potential of Company`s resources and the implementation of good corporate governance practices. And this, in turn, will generate products and services of high quality and strong competitiveness so as to increase the Company`s value and the public`s trust.

In its 28 years of being in business, Angkasa Pura II showed rapid progress and improvement in the business of airport services through the addition of various facilities and infrastructures and the improvement in service quality of the airports under its management.

Until 2012, Angkasa Pura II managed 12 Airports, namely the Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Polonia (Medan), Supadio (Pontianak), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Sultan Iskandarmuda (Banda Aceh), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjungpinang), Sultan Thaha (Jambi) dan Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang). Angkasa Pura II also provides flight information services for Jakarta`s airspace (Flight Information Region/FIR).

During the last 5 (five) years, Angkasa Pura II achieved various awards from several agencies. The awards were a form of public`s appreciation to the Company`s performance in its service. Some of the awards were The Best BUMN in Logistics Sector from the Ministry of State Owned Enterprise (2004-2006), The Best I in Good Corporate Governance (2006), the 1st Rank in the Annual Report Award 2007 in the category of BUMN Non-Finance Non-Listed, and as Best and Trusted BUMN in Good Corporate Governance in the Corporate Governance Perception Index 2007 Award. At the end of 2009, Angkasa Pura II was again granted some awards including the 1st rank of The Best Non Listed Company by Anugerah Business review 2009, the World`s 2nd Most on Time Airport for the Soekarno-Hatta Airport by Forbestraveller.com, and the 3rd rank in the Annual Report Award 2009 in the category of BUMN Non-Finance Non- Listed.

PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) The company was incorporated in 1950 under the name of Yayasan Penguasaan Pusat Kapal-kapal (PEPUSKA/Foundation of Main Authority for Ships) by legally from Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB/Joining Letter) by the Minister of Transportation and Minister of Public Development.

During the years before 1950s, The Netherlands Government refused Indonesia's concept to convert their Ships Company by the name of N.V. K.P.M (Koninklijke Paketvaart Matschappij) into a private company. The concept also mentioned that all operational ships must using Indonesia National Flag. This idea was totally rejected by The Netherlands Government.

Onwards, the rejection does not decrease the spirit for Indonesia. In spite of, consist with 8 ships with total 4800 DWT (death weight ton), PEPUSKA story was such a success that the business was continuing and expanded. PEPUSKA ships sails together with N.V. K.P.M ships that already had experienced more than half century. That was some unfair business. N.V. K.P.M had more ships than PEPUSKA does, and also N.V. K.P.M already monopoly some business contract in shipment.

Finally, On April 28th 1952, in addition to its operation, management recognized growing opportunities in the shipment business. On that date, PEPUSKA being dismissed and Indonesia opened its first state shipment private company called PT. PELNI based on three legal letters Surat Keputusan Menteri Perhubungan (Minister of Transportation) No. M.2/1/2 dated February 28th 1952, No. A.2/1/2 dated April 19th 1952, and Berita Negara Republik Indonesia No. 50 dated June 20th 1952. PT PELNI appointed its first President Director is Mr. R. Ma'moen Soemadipraja (1952-1955)

The Company (PT. PELNI) found it difficult to compete with only 8 boats from PEPUSKA as a beginning. So, Export Import Indonesia Bank lending funds for PELNI to bought 45 coasters from Western Europe. As the company wait for those coasters arrival, PELNI rented some overseas flag ships. This procedure was taken to fulfill empty route inherit from KPM. After that one by one the rented ships was replaced by the coasters and some of them also fulfilled by the Japanese boats taken from war action.

To provide the capital to further its growth, PT. PELNI changed their status from public into Government Company in 1961 based on Lembaran Negara RI No. LN 1961. In 1975, the Company changed its status again into a Private Company based on Akte Pendirian No. 31 dated October 30th, 1975. This history is written on Berita Negara RI No. 562-1976 and addendum No. 60 dated June 27th, 1976.

As time goes by and competition, in the late 1975 the company changed their status based on Akta Pendirian No. 31 dated October 30th, 1975 and Akte Perubahan No. 22 dated March 4th, 1998. This changing is published on Berita Negara Republik Indonesia dated April 16th, 1999 and addendum No. 2203.

PT Wijaya Karya (Persero)'s line of business at the time was electrical and water pipe installation works. In the early 1960s, WIKA took part in the construction project of Gelanggang Olah Raga Bung Karno on the occasion of the Games of the New Emerging Forces (GANEFO) and the 4th Asian Games in Jakarta.

With the passing of time, various improvements were made in order to continue growing as well as contribute to nation-building by providing construction services throughout the country.

The first significant growth occurred in 1972, when the name Perusahaan Negara Widjaja Karja was changed to PT Wijaya Karya. WIKA then developed into a construction contractor by handling various important projects such as the installation of electricity grids at Asahan and the Jatiluhur irrigation project.

In the mid of 2009, WIKA together with other companies have succeded in completing the Suramadu Bridge, a prestigious project that connects Java and Madura islands. Currently the project have been enjoyed by the community at large.

Entering 2010, WIKA is faced with a changing business environment with greater challenges.
